Job Description
We’re seeking a skilled heavy equipment mechanic to join us in supporting the ongoing success of this industry. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience in heavy equipment repair, along with proficiency in electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Responsibilities include conducting preventative maintenance, diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and executing repairs as needed.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, repair, and maintain a diverse range of heavy machinery.
- Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs following manufacturers’ guidelines.
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostic tests to identify mechanical issues.
- Replace or repair faulty parts, components, and systems.
- Reassemble and test repaired items for optimal functionality.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
- Ensure a clean and safe work environment.
- Adhere to company policies, as well as federal, state, and local regulations.
- Collaborate with fellow mechanics and provide assistance when required.
- Fulfill other assigned duties as necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- English (Required)
- High school diploma or GED.
- Diesel engine repair: 1 year (Preferred)
- Mechanical knowledge: 2 years (Preferred)
- Prior experience (3 years minimum) as a qualified heavy diesel mechanic, specializing in loaders, dozers, excavators, and dump trucks.
- Proficiency in servicing a wide array of heavy equipment.
- Strong diagnostic capabilities and problem-solving aptitude.
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team setting.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated reliability and self-motivation.
- Thorough understanding of mechanical systems, with the ability to interpret blueprints and schematics for diagnostic and repair purposes.
Job Duties:
- Utilize diagnostic tools to pinpoint equipment malfunctions.
- Execute maintenance and repair tasks to uphold operational efficiency.
- Perform preventive maintenance checks to ensure equipment functionality.
- Diagnose engine malfunctions and address issues with fuel systems, ignition timing, and more.
- Install and repair hydraulic and pneumatic components crucial for various industries.
- Maintain and repair engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems on construction equipment.
- Implement preventative measures to guarantee equipment safety and performance.
Required Licenses:Â
- Driver’s License (Required)
- CDL preferred but not mandatory.
- Surface Miner Certification is preferred but not mandatory.
Training and Experience:
- Technical proficiency: Solid grasp of heavy machinery operations and repair techniques.
- Problem-solving prowess: Ability to identify and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
- Attention to detail: Keen eye for spotting potential problems and executing precise repairs.
- Communication skills: Effective interaction with team members and clients.
